Hi, my name is Kristen, and I am 23 years old. I am the oldest of 4 siblings but my youngest brother is only 11 and he has autism and Down syndrome. I’ve been taking care of him as long as I could remember and it’s not easy handling a child with autism. I have 11 years of personal experience with him. I also volunteer as a special needs mentor for a CCD program for kids with disabilities and special needs. I’ve been involved in that program for about 3 years. I have recently had a family with two children ages 3 & 5 that I occasionally watched. I’ve been babysitting other than my brother since I was 12 years old. I love children and treat them like they were my own. I am currently working as a caregiver on the side for older people who can’t take care of Read more themselves and I love taking care of them. But my passion is caring for kids and helping parents out so they are less stress with whatever they are going through on top of their children. I know all parents need some time for themselves and I love that I can be the one to relieve some of the stress and fatigue. Although I have not had the luxury to work with newborns, on a daily basis, I have been around a lot of people with newborns and have taken care of them for short periods of time under minimal supervision. So I am not clueless with newborns. I know they are your precious little ones and I will treat and nurture them as if they were my own.
