I currently work at AIDB at the Helen Keller campus. I have been employed there for 10 years. I work in the Residential Dept with multi handicapped students. I have worked with students as young as 3 years old to 21 years old. I work in a dorm with 5 boys that are either deaf, blind, and in wheel chairs due to multiple disabilities. My job experience consist of feeding, bathing, dressing, toilet and hygiene needs, transporting, assiting in recreation and bedtime for all students. I work with lifts, wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aides, glasses, and bath/shower chairs. I am certified in medication administration and CPR. I hold a CDL drivers license for bus transportation and can sign intermediate ASL(American Sign Language.) I can cook, clean, and communicate with compassion and patience. I enjoy my job and find satisfaction in helping others feel more independent and cared for in my presents. I just divorced my husband and moved into a 1 bedroom apt. I need to work part time to help pay my bills now that I'm on my own. I also have the time. I work 2nd shift with 2 days off during the week that are different every week. I have a yearly schedule which makes it easy to plan other working hours way in advance. I also have school hours off for holidays and summer which creates a lot of free time to work a 2nd job. I am a mother of a beautiful daughter 33 years old and a Mimi to her 5 year old boy, my grandson. I would appreciate a chance to meet you and help with what ever needs you have.
