My name is Cindy. I am 45 years old, and the first real job I ever had was at an assisted living facility in Indiana. I learned many valuable lessons about respect from caring for the elderly and feel a very special fondness for their wisdom, wit, and sometimes attitude. I have cared for my own grandmother who was 86 years old, and suffering from dementia, and Alzheimer's disease. This care was full time of a duration of two consecutive summers (because she lived in Indiana) and involved all aspects of care, including dressing, bathing, walking, food preparation, hygiene needs, medication, appointments and outings.
