Hello! My name is Misty & I am a professional Nanny. For as long as I can remember I have loved children. As a child when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up the answer was always a "mommy." I was born with a very strong maternal instinct & empathetic nature. Being a nanny is much more than a job to me. I feel that I can change & impact a child & parents life in a very positive way. It is not just about caring for a child for an hour or two. To me it is caring for the world. I am a strong believer in the motto "it takes a village." Being a mother myself I understand that it takes more than parents to raise a child. This job gives me an opportunity to help change the community and give back. At the early age of 22 I was in a position where I had to raise a child on my own. It was extremely challenging but I learned a lot. I had to learn the skills of motherhood very quickly. My daughter was born premature and I spent months waking her up every night for feedings every 2 hours. That was my first gig at true exhaustion! When my first daughter was 5 I got married and had a son & daughter back to back. My second daughter was only 1 year old when my son was born. I was a stay at home mom and spent the majority of the day & night alone taking care of my newborn, 1 year old, and 5 year old. Do I know what exhaustion is...YES! My husband was a real estate agent working in new homes at the time & we decided to open a brokerage and run it out of our home. At this time we decided we needed help and we hired a nanny. I can remember that day like it was yesterday! I sit here today & remember that huge sigh of relief I had the first day she showed up! I remember how much I loved her immediately just knowing she was there to help! My children are now all in school and I feel that it is my time to give back. Moms & Dads, I UNDERSTAND!
