I have worked in the respite care field since 2017. Becoming a caregiver earlier on in my career (and then a behavior specialist) has given me amazing insights and experiences into the service-based industry. A few of the many skills I learned are crisis management, behavior analysis, flexibility, compassion, record-keeping, and multi-tasking. My favorite part of the job was building rapport with each client I worked with. From 2 years old to 21 years old, each client had a unique personality and I learned from them as much as they learned from me. Many parents and guardians are needing caregivers urgently due to traditional daycare and childcare services being put on hold, I am looking forward to assisting in whatever way I can and creating a fun and safe environment for my future clients.
