Serious yet personable caregiver of 10+ years experience caring for others with numerous afflictions. My home care background extends to conditions of diabetes, epilepsy, dementia/Alzheimer's, ALS, hypertension, chronic pain, cancer, paralysis, recovery from various surgeries, spinal disease, various heart disorders and other disabilities. My 10-year background consists of 7 total combined years of personal care-giving (mom with terminal cancer, aunt with disabilities, and disabled family friend with diabetes), 2+ years of paid assignments, and another 1/2 year of volunteer work.
Prior to working P/T, I was employed full-time in Human Resources for roughly 12 years. I have always been drawn to work in which directly helps people, as I truly do enjoy helping others and find it makes me happy to do so. I especially enjoy helping seniors because I believe their needs are often overlooked or ignored in this country and will do what I can to improve their ADLs, one client at a time.
In Sep-2015, I received the distinction of a Certified Companion Aide (CCA) from The Senior's Choice organization. Additionally, I just renewed my CPR/AED & First Aid certification, which is good through Dec-2018.
