Do you have a Mom or Grandma that you worry about?
Maybe you'd like someone to stop in and check in on them, make them meals (or just remind them it's time to eat)?
Maybe you need someone to do light housekeeping for them, take the trash out, drive them to doctor's appointments and either take them grocery shopping or go shopping for them?
I understand! My grandma was in this very situation a few years ago and lived in the Bay Area. She was mentally sharp as a tack, but we worried about her climbing on ladders to change light bulbs or that the anxiety would be too much to drive herself out of her little neighborhood to doctor's appointments. After my grandfather passed, she also just didn't care much about eating when by herself, but if you added the social component in, she really enjoyed eating again. We would have LOVED to have paid someone to do the "little things" for her and just check up on her especially after she had had a fall and recovery made it harder for her to drag the trash can out to the curb, etc.
Let me be that for you, and your mom or grandma! Let me relieve that anxiety for all of you. I'd like to stick to the Fortuna area, but would be possibly willing to travel to Rio Dell, Ferndale, Hydesville, etc. I have a lot of different life experience, but "being there" for people especially the older generation is just in my heart/the core of who I am. I'd prefer not to help with personal care: bathing, dressing, etc, but many years ago, I took a class at CR for just that, and I also helped my grandma with all of those things after open heart surgery AND after her fall where she broke her pelvis. My desire is to be a companion/buddy that has the time to sit and visit, but also make meals (if needed), provide transportation, wash dishes and other small household chores if needed.
Please email me if you have a need. I'd love to meet you, your loved one and see if I can be of assistance, help, ease everyone's minds, and make your loved one's life more enjoyable at the same time! My rate can be discussed depending on what tasks/chores are needed, how many hours are needed, etc. I'm willing to go through any background checks you may want to run. I've worked for the school system two separate times and passed their background checks with no problems. I can also provide quite the list of personal references about my character, etc. if needed.
