Cindy’s Bio
At age 19 my mother had a massive heart attack and I was her caregiver. My Father died from C.O.P.D. Since then, I have worked in the Optometry field in offices and nursing homes. I cared for my mother and three of her neighbors in Petaluma until their deaths. Currently I work for Petaluma City School District as a Special Education Classroom Assistant. I have two daughters of my own. They are 18 and 21.
CERTIFICATION:
Paraprofessional
RESID (first aid/CPR)
ProAct Training
My certification is from Petaluma City School District.
During my Special Education years of employment I have worked in a Kindergarten, 5th and 6th grade classroom. My job experience has also been at the Junior High and High School levels. Last year, aside from my position as a 1:1 assistant in Special Ed, I worked at the Valley Vista Elementary School Childcare. I interacted, supervised, assisted with crafts and helped with homework for K-6th grade students
My hobbies are gardening and sewing. I do flower and vegetable gardening. As for sewing skills, I can teach crocheting, embroidery, needlepoint, hand and machine sewing. I made my girls dresses, skirts and blouses when they were young (along with my own).
In the past I have taught sewing and crafts to groups of girls at elementary, junior high and high school levels. I also taught my daughters to hand sew doll dresses and to make a simple dress on the machine too. I have done craft painting too. It is a wonderful feeling to create!
Currently, the chance to work with the "young" is very appealing to me. They are a breath of fresh air and add excitement to life! I created long lasting memories with the elderly that I cared for. As a result, I gained joy and wisdom from them, but lost "dear to my heart" friends.
I hope you will consider me for your nanny position. My work hours for the district are 8:30 to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. However, on Wednesday school ends at 2:10 pm. I know this may conflict with your child's schedule.
