My first career was as a three year hospital trained registered nurse. While working as an Occupational Health Nurse at McClellan AFB I returned to school and earned a BS in Health Sciences.
I had many opportunities in Federal Service and retired in 2012 after 30 years of service.
I retired to care for my husband of 47 years who suffered from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. A debilitating illness similar to Parkinson's but with more brain deterioration. He required a lot of assisted care while mobile. He became bedridden in Sept of 2012 and I provided his 24/7 care in our home until his passing on 13 Dec 2012.
I know how important respite care for the caregiver can be so think I would be good at that job.
