Heidi’s Bio
I began care giving for family members years ago. Most recently, I took care of my Mother after breaking her femor bone and knee.
I moved her to Sacramento, and I set up all of her medical care through UC Davis along with the Home Care Nurse, Occupational and Physical Therapy twice a week. Prior to her moving I was trained by her physical therapist at Westland House for mobility transfers, and Physical Therapy. Additionally, I stayed at Westland House a few days participating in her therapy sessions.
Within 2 months, my Mother began to walk with light toe touch, and after 1 year she is on her walker and living independently at 87.
Caring for my Mother was not only rewarding to see her progress, and I found my calling in a new career.
The key to companion care is spending time with your client showing you care and value them by simply listening and communicating. My Mother's recovery was possible through our relationship of trust and respect and dedication to one another. I would feel honored to give the same care to others toward enhancing their quality of life.
