My junior year of high school, I started working as a recreation assistant for Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale, CO. This is a five star assisted living, long term care and memory care facility. My duties as a recreation assistant were in some ways more simple than that of a nurse or CNA, and in a lot of ways more involved. I had the pleasure of being involved in the enrichment and more enjoyable aspects of senior living. This job was so rewarding to me, that although I have since moved out of the area, when I go back to visit I always make a stop to say hello to my favorite friends at Heritage Park! I love being able to make a difference in someone's life even if it's just a meal, a game, or any time spent together. It is a lonely world, and i especially think our our grand parents and great grandparents need for companionship can go overlooked from time to time. I would love to step in and fill in the gaps where your family member may need some extra fun and TLC!
