I worked in home care for several years then moved to hospice care for 5 years. After that I went back to school and received my associates degree for Medical Assistant and worked for 18 years in doctor's offices and teaching till I took early retirement 4 years ago. I keep my credentials current in Medical Assisting.
I currently volunteer at Healing Warriors Program in the front office doing what I call gopher work. The program offers acupuncture, cranialsacrial and healing touch to veterans. It's my way of giving back to the veterans.
I'm very good with people, especially with older people. I know how I want to be treated and can transfer that to others, along with the respect they deserve and keeping their dignity protected. I'm good at listening and I'm close enough in age to have many things in common with an older person so more things to talk about.
I'm looking forward to sharing time with and being a comfort to someone.
