I've worked in Senior Living facilities for a little over 4 years. They've ranged from older retired adults and adults within the late stages of Alzheimer's and Dementia. I was a CNA my first year and now I currently work in the dining department. I love taking care of older adults. Assisting with various activities and learning individual stories from ones past are also great opportunities for me.

I have been fully trained in the following categories:
-proper grooming skills, bathing, dressing, etc.
-proper lifting with and without the Hoyer lift
-assistance with meals (feeding)
-knowledge of special diets and restrictions (mechanical soft, pureed meals, cut foods/meats, peanut allergies, gluten-free allergies, shell fish allergies, lactose intolerance and dairy allergies.)
- Also liquid restrictions and thickened liquid types: nectar, honey and pudding.

-Natural Disaster training in most disaster types, fires, tornadoes, etc.
