I love caring for others and making a difference. I enjoy providing care for the young, elderly as well as for pets. I have babysat, pet sat and worked as a caregiver in the past. I've been a caretaker for the elderly and for a lady with cerebral palsy. It is enjoyable to enrich the lives of others. I am also a photographer and artist. I love documenting experiences and creating art to share with others. I have done creative projects with many of the people I have taken care of in the past. In my varied, experiences I have incorporated my skills and used certifications to help me better do so. I was an au pair oversees for a couple months and the 2-year-old loved to paint with me. In addition to the typical babysitting tasks of safety and care, I incorporated my love for art into some of the activities I would do with the young girl. She especially enjoyed finger painting outside with non-toxic paints. She also enjoyed being outside and swinging in the front yard with myself and her neighbor. Additionally, I have had a variety of babysitting jobs from a young age that has taught me about caring for the young. I have my Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certificate and Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate. When I worked in assisted living, in addition to daily care necessities of seven elderly residents, I'd do creative activities and exercises with the residents which would sometimes be going on walks with the residents and their pets. Working with developmental disabilities taught me a new perspective about life and also helped me to be grateful for the many simple abilities I have as a person that many of us often take for granted. As a lady with cerebral palsy, she needed assistance in all activities. Activities she enjoyed and needed assistance with were swimming, communicating, going for walks, planting seeds in the garden, writing in her journal, going out into the community and interacting with people, watching plays and dances, running errands and going out to eat. It was awesome getting to know this lady in her young adult life, enriching her experience while she also enriched my experience in life as well.
