Barbara’s Bio
I have been working in the human services field for 4 years, primarily in group homes with cognitively and physically impaired individuals. I have work experience doing overnight awake positions as well as morning and evening shifts. I've covered doubles and have been mandated to stay for longer periods on shifts. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have a PMT certification and I also have a med card for medication administration.
My job duties are:
-assist with daily living skills (bathing, cooking, cleaning, etc.)
-daily documentations
-transportation to medical appointments, programs, etc.
-administer medications
-communicate and engage individuals in activities
I graduated from Southern CT State university majoring in psychology with a concentration in mental health and I am currently enrolled in an online Masters program in clinical mental health counseling.
I enjoy helping people. I have always wanted to work in the health setting since I was a child. It is a skill that comes naturally.
