I have owned a house cleaning business for 26 years.

From June 2011 until the end of August 2011 I lived-in and cared for Gerry, an 87 year old gentleman with terminal cancer.
He had been a long-time cleaning client of mine for 17 years.
My duties; dressing,toileting,grocery shopping and meal preparation, companionship,housekeeping,and transportation.

From December 2013 until October 2014 I lived-in and cared for Harold, an 81 year old gentleman with moderately severe dementia and congestive heart disease.
I do not have a CNA license but I do have common sense when caring for people.
Harold's legs had ,over a couple days, swollen worse than usual so I made a Doctor's appointment. After seeing the Doctor, we were sent to get an ultrasound and within one hour we were instructed to go to the emergency room of nearest hospital. They had found a blood clot in one leg!
Harold had surgery and after the hospital stay he returned home.
The next several weeks I noticed a decline in his cognitive thinking and was not able to follow even simple hand gestures.
Caring for Harold was increasingly difficult because he would wander outside at night.
In October he went to a convalescent home and recently passed away.
My duties;bathing,grooming,dressing,oral hygiene,toileting, laundry, errands,grocery shopping and meal preparation,companionship,
transportation to doctor's appointments and medication management,
and housekeeping.

For two days in January 2015 I lived-in and cared for Millie,a 98 year old woman with advanced (severe) dementia.
She had gotten sick and went to the hospital and then to a convalescent home.
My duties; bathing,grooming,dressing,toileting,laundry,meal prep,
companionship and housekeeping.
