Care Companion. Part-time afternoons. Available for Babysitting as well. Also pet care.
I have 19 years of experience with my live-in mom. Companionship, laundry, light cleaning, meals, driving to appointments, shopping, general outings, administering medication, etc.
I am a compassionate, honest, healthy, reliable, and energetic person. I am 59 years old and I am married. I grew up and live in Niantic. I would prefer to travel up to about 15 miles, but would consider more if it is a good fit for both of us. Possible occasional evenings
My live-in mom was well until 2010; she then required more help with daily activities. I stopped working at this time to assist in her care. We had many aides come to our home and I learned so much from these wonderful women. I am so grateful to them, and gained such respect for their special care, kindness, patience, you name it. I realized this is something I would love to do for another elderly person or someone in need of this type of care. I would provide the same care as I have to my own mom, children and grandchildren. I find the elderly interesting and entertaining and love to hear about their life and experiences, and their stories. They have so much to share.
There were one or two aides that didn't quite have the kindness factor down so well and this made me realize there is a need for respectful, loving care with dignity and kindness.
I will provide professional and personal recommendations on request. Will also provide background check if requested. $15.00 and up per hour depending on duties.
--I'm also listed as a babysitter through Sitter City. I would be happy do both simultaneously if the situation allows
I absolutely love children, especially babies and toddlers, and always planned that one day, after I stopped working I would be a loving caregiver, as I truly enjoy children. I raised my twin girls and enjoyed every minute of it. I have four grandchildren that are now all in school, so I'm ready for this! I was a nanny many years ago, before I went into the professional workforce.
If required, I will do light meal prep and straightening up. I will play games, do crafts, go to the park, doctor appointments, grocery store, etc. whatever is required.
I love animals and would be happy to care for your pet(s) while I'm at your home.
I hope to be able to help a family who needs a loving, caring, dependable nanny or sitter, and/or companion part-time afternoons. Possible occasional evenings.
