Mollie’s Bio
I was an aide to a young woman with Aspergers who attended college at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. I became her life skills coach through absolute need, her parents lived far enough away from the campus which made their involvement difficult. I also was her tutor because multiple times the tutors they hired were unable or unwilling to deal with the many mood swings that were a prominent part of her world. Her goal was to finish college but her behaviors made it a challenge. There was never two days that were the same, so being patient and flexible were assets I drew on daily. She was socially inept and had little comfort in public, something we worked on together to give her greater confidence to reach her goal. What began with my time there on campus being an aide to help control and handle her behaviors, ended with a much more involved job. I love being a part of her journey and cherish the time we had. Her Mother wrote a letter of reference for me which I have if requested.
I also worked as in independent contractor for the developmentally disabled and as a home health aid to the physically disabled. I am comfortable in many situations.
I am CPR and First Aid certified, have a valid drivers license and have been finger printed by the town of Montville.
