Initially I became a caregiver because of high demand for this type of work and because of what I was reading about the growth in this field. I knew I would be good at this because I love helping people, whether it be in retail or healthcare.
When my maternal grandfather and then my dad became ill, I jumped right in to help and was amazed at how easily I slid into the role of caregiver. I read up on their varying symptoms and treatments. It was a fascinating and sad time for me. Right after my dad passed I applied for a job in Direct Care.
I am empathetic to the individual and the family.
I am clean, resourceful, fun and a quick study. Reliable and conscientious.
