My name is Deborah and my first experience of taking care of someone was my mother who had pancreatic cancer. Took her to Dr appointments and radiation therapy and helped her as much as I could, even if it was just sitting and talking with her. Thats when I knew I wanted to help people, People who are ill, disable and elderly need to be treated with respect, dignity and compassion and yes patients.
I am a Certified Nurses Assistant and I currently work with an elderly lady with COPD and mobility issues. I help her with breathing treatments, make sure she takes meds, cleaning, run errands, take to Drs appointments, cook, taught her how to use her iPad.
