All of my adult working life I have worked in customer care (30 yrs. as a reservation sales agent with USAirways/American Airlines and 20 yrs as a Certified Nursing Assistant for major national nursing care companies). Someone once asked: "You're a certified nursing assistant? That's cool. I wanted to do that when I was much younger. How much do you make?" My reply was: How much do I make?." I can make hold your hand seem like the most important thing in the world when you are frightened. I may be able to help.your parent or child when they are having difficulty breathing...or maybe I can help your father survive a seizure. I can make myself arise at 12am or 5am to remind your parent or child to take the medication needed to live. I work all day to assist the lives of strangers. I make my family wait for dinner until I know your family member is taken care of. I make myself skip lunch until I make sure that everything I did for your parentl, spouse, or child today is charted. I make myself work weekends and holidays because people don't need care just Monday thru Friday. Today I might help you enjoy a better a better day and continue to enjoy your life. How much do I make? All I know is I make a difference.
