I am a business professional - currently working at Publix Corporate. I absolutely love my job, however, i'm single, LOVE children, but do not have any of my own yet, and elderly, and am seeking a part-time position to save for a new house. I have over 16 years of experience in childcare. I started babysitting regularly when I was 12 years old. I've always been extremely mature for my age (most of my friends are 10-15 years older than me). At 16, I began working for St. Paul Lutheran's ECEC program after school, and remained there for 3 years, eventually being an assistant in the toddler's room everyday. I enjoyed it immensely. In 2011 - 2012 I was a a night-shift nanny for an ER doctor for an infant and 4 year old. I am experienced at preparing food, cleaning, bathing, administering meds, have first aid experience and have been CPR certified. I have impeccable references. My full-time job has flexible hours, so I make my own schedule.
Taking care of children is hard work. It requires lots of compassion, humility, playfulness, tenderness, but also the ability to be focused and sometimes, hard. Knowing how to balance all of those skills and traits, is the key.
