I have retired from nursing and have been doing elder care companion work, personal assistant work, and housekeeping since 2002. Before retiringI worked as a neuro nurse with my specialty being movement disorders, example: multiple sclerosis, parkinson's disease, gait disorders, dystonia, stroke, dementia etc. I thought retirement would be "amazing" but it's not nearly as interesting as my work was. I have a masters in nursing, a bachelors in philosophy and an associates in english litrature. When I care for elders, I do not charge for transporting to spots, doctor, hair dresser etc. I have a spotless driving record. My hourly rate varies from 15.00-25.00 depending on how far I drive and condition of client. I do housekeeping, laundry etc. Whatever it takes t make everything easier on the client and family.
