I am a 66 year old grandmother, live alone, and just retired as a 911 dispatcher. I still desire to work, and feel working as a care companion would be a good fit for me, as I am by nature a nurturer.
I do not have professional experience in this field, but both of my parents succumbed to cancer, and I was one of the main caregivers during their illness. I also have an older sister who now suffers with Alzheimer's. I spend as much time as possible with her and try to enrich her life and help her through this terrible time. She is married and I am not responsible for her ongoing care.
As a former 911 dispatcher, I am trained in CPR and Emergency Medical Dispatch. I have no other certifications that would qualify me for this job, except that I am responsible, punctual, reliable, honest and easygoing.
Before dispatch I was a graphic designer, in the printing business for 25 years. I love animals, especially horses, love nature and the great outdoors. I am very blessed with good health and have a lot more to give in my lifetime. I don't want to sit in an office all day. I would love to work for a family that appreciates me as a helper and a person.
