My name is Kristen Hope Brown, and I am 29 years old. All of my adult life, I have been in a job that serves others, whether directly, such as my experience teaching or indirectly when I was an Archivist Specialist. Thus, when it became apparent that my mom needed to be taken care of last summer, I did not renew my teaching contract and came home. For a period of several months, I took care of my mother and my grandparents (because she usually took care of them) when she broke her right ankle. Then as she was getting out of her cast, she had a stroke. I also took care of her as she was beginning her journey to recovery. Now that she is stable enough, I am looking for a part-time job in an area where I can help people. Thus, my experience, along with the fact that I have CPR training through my past as a teacher, gives me the qualifications to be a good companion for your child/older parent.
