I am a warm, cheerful and caring caregiver who is ever willing to provide comfort and safety to individuals at any time of the day.

I am also an experienced caregiver who has a compassionate nature and caring skills with wide experience in providing care for people with intellectual disability (Down syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Speech impairment, Behavior disorder etc) to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

The duties I performed are as follows:
• Assisted Client with daily living activities and personal grooming.
• Scheduled and Managed Clients Schedules and ensuring all doctor’s appointments are kept.
• Administered medication following doctor’s instruction on the PMOF and MAR.
• Performed light housekeeping duties and healthy meal preparation.
• Removed safety hazards and reported issues to the management.
• Documented Clients behaviors and reported abnormalities.
• Assisted Client with their goals.
• Changed ostomy bags/Assisted with emptying faeces from Clients Ostomy bag and ensured it is clean and free of air.
• Accompanied clients to community outings i.e places of their interest like the shopping mall, movie theatres, recreation centers, Library etc and medical appointments.
• Maintained and updated client condition and activity by documenting daily.
• Identified defective facility equipment and reported to the supervisor accordingly.

ACHIEVEMENTS
• Trained Clients on how to prepare light meals.
• Trained Clients on personal grooming.
• Reduced a client’s behavior outburst by 85%.
• Improved a client’s ability to tidy up her room.
• Improved a client’s ability to do her laundry without a behavior outburst.

From the tender age of 8 years old, I watched my dad been cared for as a quadra paralysis patient combined with brain damage for 19 years. I settled in into it, I became natural at caring for him and people who needed assistance. Knowing that i make the world a better place for them gives me joy, peace and satisfaction.

I have a degree in Sociology. I have a Developmental Disability certification, I also have a certificate in medication technician (CMT), First aid and CPR.
