Lisa’s Bio
I have always been a caregiver. My parents started an inhome daycare in 1986. I was a licensed helped at 16. Over the next 25 years, they instilled in all 3 of their children a passion for teaching and for communicating through relationship. The taught me to value meeting people of all ages where they are and sharing time with them.
I have a passion for people diagnosed with autism and worked closely with one of our families when their oldest was diagnosed in 1990. My family learned alongside theirs how to set Will up to succeed in situations, and Coleen and John set standards of fair expectation that were enforced at home and at daycare.
I approach each day gently, taking care to gauge my clients’ moods. I am a talker, prepping them for activities or appointments before they happen.
I taught downhill skiing for 10 years, have taught hand knitting and coordinated learning groups online.
