I taught Family and Consumer Sciences for 16 years at area schools including Family Living, etc. Enjoyed raising 4 children who are now adults and who have given me 5 delightful granddaughters. Had a licensed daycare preschool in the home for 8 children. Sold life, health, auto, and home insurance in the Bourbonnais area. Had the pleasure of being caregiver for my Dad in his later years in both his own home for a year and in my home for his last year. I had monitored him long distance for ten years prior with frequent trips to the east coast. I believe that it is really important that elderly patients get special attention. It is equally important that caregivers deserve some time-out to prevent burnout from that all consuming role.
