By trade, I'm an actress/singer & Photographer. But, I have a heart that cares greatly - bountifully full! ! I have always been the friend that was called when friends needed a pet care while away, a child on emergency basis, a mother looked after when regular medical nurse wasn't available on an emergency basis -- ages ranging from 70-90. That was to do simple pop in meals or simply play games, keep company, etc. The trust factor in handing over of keys to be kept for just such occasions is HUGE! Now most of those people have moved far away. In regards to pet-sitting or just the fact someone may have pets....animals generally love me.
Throughout early 20's, I cared for an aging grandmother and witnessed a massive heart attack -- that never leaves you. When she thankfully survived, it was knowing the signs to watch for to ward off another one, very stressful for a 20-something year old, but an old soul at my core and strong! I was a Nanny to a child for 2 years from 6-8 year of age in my late 20's. In my 30's I cared for an Aunt dying of Cancer and most recently saw my mother through her ending days also of Cancer and a father with COPD. While I may not have a medical degree or certification in any of this type care....I have everything necessary where it counts. The only thing I have that is now a bit limiting is I cannot lift beyond 20 lbs. And while I don't have a resume for Care-taking, I can give CURRENT references when asked!

To conclude: whether I am a sitter, Nanny, Pet care or Caregiver....My profession and the personality needed to do it, does translate to me being excellent with people and I'm a bit quirky in attire sometimes (sometimes coming from auditions, etc.) which is ALWAYS a great conversation starter entering a door! Also the imagination and creativity it takes to portray a part in an indie film or stage makes me a fun companion! I may have been away from the care-taking field for awhile, but that skill that is caring and the soul that has compassion and true heart is something that never leaves you...because well...it's not a job. It's relating human to human and truly caring what happens with your fellow man (or woman or child!). I have that heart. I no longer want to work a part-time corporate or office job - BECAUSE I want to connect more with people and give back to humanity. I wish you the best in choosing the right person for YOU!
