Following other social work related experiences (such as college residence assistance, after school care/tutoring and work with special needs children) I became a caregiver in Portland, OR in 2005 at the recommendation of a friend, and began a three year care relationship with a 50 year old brain injured gay gentleman who needed personalized and understanding outing companionship. I escorted him to gay social settings, providing appropriate social support and physical assistance so that he could be as independent as possible. This expanded to include day to day caregiving in the rehabilitation home in which he lived, working with and providing meaningful care and outings to numerous other individuals.

With an education in the arts, and diverse work and life experiences as a result, I am a flexible, patient and understanding individual with extensive conversational capacity as well as the ability to appreciate quiet. I am physically fit and strong, so able to help with physical care and mobility needs.
