I am 47 years old, a former journalist who worked at The State Journal-Register for 21 years before being laid off in late 2012. I have worked in several part- time jobs both while working at the newspaper (a night job) and since. I am the host at a busy downtown Springfield lunch spot and had my own handyman business (lawns, landscaping, painting, some plumbing, etc.) I once even watched children in my own home, and have also served as a substitute teacher. I am a divorced father of four who owns a rental property and currently works part-time. I am presentable, fit, well read, conversational and capable.
