When I say till the end I want to tell you that the last was my mother. She did not want to go to a hospice or an old folks home so when she development altheimers and dementia 7 years ago, I kept that promise. I devoted all my time and love to her until she passed 2 years ago. It was very difficult at times but I am very patient, kind, caring and of course she was my mother so very loving. I also became a nurses aide 10 years prior to that to help and take care of my uncle who was a paraplegic. He had fallen from a 3 story bldg. and broke his neck. The only things he could move was his head and arms but his hands remained fists. Since I was just an aide I basically just kept him company. I would do as he asked: feed him, give him drinks, let him smoke and empty his urine bag. I kept him company for the most part unti he passed. I would never mistreat anyone or anything. I know a lot of people can say that and be monsters on the inside, that's why I think you would just have to meet with me and go by your gut instinct. So that is the chance I would like to be given, people can write the most amazing things but I truly believe your heart knows which way to go. Thank you.
