I have worked and volunteered at a nursing home. Along with taking personal care of 2 elderly females in their homes. Some of the responsibilities I had were as follows:
1. Provide companionship/conversation to client.
2. Prepare and serve meals and/or snacks.
3. Provide grooming and dressing guidance.
4. Provide light housekeeping.
5. Provide laundry and linen service to include washing, ironing and folding clothes.
6. Provide shopping service to client to include grocery and clothes shopping.
7. Provide incidental transportation for client which includes visits to doctor appointments, friends, family members, stores, dental and hair appointments.
8. Provide assistance and planning of client's recreational activities and events. Playing cards and board games. Trips to local zoo's, museums, parks, movies and malls.
9. Remind client of medications.
10. Prescription pick-up.
11. Assist with paying bills and mail sorting.
12. Taking pet(s) to the veterinarian.
