I'm a 37 yr old ambitious, hard working, compassionate, woman; and also a loving mother of 2 great teenagers. I've decided to go back to schooI (part time-days), starting July 7, so am SEEKING "EVENING/ OVERNIGHT" work. I am CPR & First Aid certifided (1997-current). In 1997, I graduated from ESU w/ my Bachelor's degree in Sociology & a minor in Rehabilitation Services. I have spent the past 17 yrs...raising my kids (independently) & working full time at various rehab facilities (last job-10 yrs). Busy, "YES"...but my passion for volunteering & outreach programs continually remained on my "list of priorities" too. I've been a nursery room volunteer (infant room) at our church for roughly 13 yrs & have been a "World Vision Lead Sponsor" for 2 other children (internationally) for almost 10 yrs now. Although raising my own 2 kids on a single income has NOT been "easy" it has always been of great importance to me that I raise my kids to: "be thankful, appreciative, & ALWAYS BE KIND to others!" From serving food at the Rescue Mission downtown...to simply sitting down to talk w/ residents on the Alzheimer's unit, etc- just bringing someone: a smile, some love,& the comfort of not feeling alone is indescribable! I've worked w/ people from VERY DIVERSE: ages, backgrounds, cultures, economic situations, nationalities, physical abilities, mental abilities, etc! I BELIEVE STRONGLY that ALL people were "created w/ a unique PURPOSE" & are EQUALLY deserving of: RESPECT, DIGNITY, & LOVE!! But, if "credentials" are what you are looking for- I've got 'em! I'm a college graduate (graduating "w/ HONORS" from a 4yr State University in only 3 yrs) & have an array of national & state licences/certifications, allowing me to "legally" work w/ many populations. However, I believe that my most valuable assets are NOT those that I recieved in a classroom, but are the "real world" priceless experiences that have touched my heart, strengthened my soul, & deepened my insight...continually giving me new perspectives & a greater ability to "see things through another person's eyes!" My own "life journey" of time spent helping others & just interacting w/people has brought me to a place of clearly identifying that I personally do NOT want to live the "typical rat race" to obtain "society's image of personal success." I simply want to make a difference in people's lives! I'd love the opportunity to meet w/ U & hope we can talk about the specifics of this position soon. Thank U 4 your time.
