I have eight years of experience in long-term care as well as mental health. I knew Healthcare is where I wanted I be so I started working as Nurse Aide in 2010. I received my certification in 2011 as a CNA. I’ve always had a passion for helping others. I’m currently working on furthering my knowledge in healthcare. I’m hoping to one day make my dream a reality as becoming a nurse. There is something about doing things for someone who could never you repay you for it. I am CPR certified as well. Below is a brief description of my job duties as CNA at the long term facilities that I have been employed with.
Assisted residents with their basic ADLs. Such as bathing, eating, changing clothes, personal hygiene care, mobility/transferring, charting all care for each resident that was provided, getting vitals that were required, cleaning wheelchairs and other personal items that may have been dirty, restocking residents with personal care items when needed, making beds, answering call lights. Also monitored any changes in the residents and reports any observations to the charge nurse.
