I became a certified nurses assistance in 1998, and although I have other trades (several) this is the job I LOVE TO DO. This is a job I find myself doing for free. I enjoy the blessings I receive from caring for persons that NEED assistance be it a lot, or a little. I started at 14 when we relocated her from Jersey to take care of my granny (who had cancer) I learned how to, accompany her to bathroom, bedside commode, bed pan, to diapers. I was taught how to lift manually,and using a lift. I learned how to give meds. I learned how to make her bed with her in it. I learned how to turn her to keep her safe from bed sores, I learned how to bathe her, I learned how to be patient, compassionate, and caring through loving my granny and taking care of her at 14. I just enjoy making people feel comfortable, and as independent,as possible.
