Nicole’s Bio
I am a 21 year old senior nursing student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It is through this nursing program that I have gained experience working older adults including those who are mentally ill, those who are sick and those who are dying. I have completed clinical rotations in which I cared for many older adults at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA and Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. I have acquired experience working with older adults on a psychiatric unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA (including those with dementia, depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse etc.). Lastly, my experience with older adults who are dying stemmed from my clinical rotation in Hospice care through Hospice Care in the Berkshires in Pittsfield, MA. Not only do I have a large amount of experience in caring for older adults (assisting with bathing, toileting, eating, walking, help with medication etc.) but I also really enjoy the time spent talking with these individuals and keeping them company.
