I have experience working as a resident assistant/patient care assistant at a nursing home for one year, as well as a medical assistant at a dermatologists office for three months. As a resident assistant I administrated prescribed medications to residents and assisted residents with personal care, which required prior months of training. As a medical assistant I prepared patients for office visits and procedures, handled administrative duties and determined proper patient/insurance billing procedures. I also had the opportunity to shadow doctors and physician assistants at an orthopedic institute, where I was able to assist them with some procedures: wrapping wounds and injections. I love caring for people, making them comfortable and keeping them company. I am an aspiring future physician assistant and believe that careers in healthcare are very rewarding to the individual and a community.
