Hello my name is Marie I have worked as a companion for 2 years however I have worked around the elderly for about 35 years also I was my Mom and Dad caregiver for about 5 Years. I find joy working with the elderly and love that I am helping others . I am not CNA certified but while working in my private care job I did the following sponge bath dressing hair brushing using commode meals and meds washing sheets and making bed foot massage and most of all conversation . A typical morning I would get my Friend out of bed use commode wash up brush hair get dressed put the news on make coffee and breakfast . then about 9am listened to music and talked while I stripped the bed put on wash cleaned up Breakfast dishes and gave any meds that were needed I am also Dementia certified .
