My first experience with the elderly was when I volunteered at a nursing home during my senior year in college. I immediately fell in love with this age group and began to expand my experiences to include working as a home health aide and as a nurse's aide at an assisted living facility. These two jobs have easily been my favorites.
I thoroughly enjoy the company of the elderly population, especially when it is one-on-one time. I love learning new things from and about them, while teaching them new things about me! Whether we are bonding over similar interests or simply chatting about nothing in particular, it is always a treat. And overall, I care about the well-being, health, and happiness of others.
