Roughly 10 years ago my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She is my absolute best friend and has been the most influential person in my life. Watching her quality of life deteriorate but still seeing sparks of her personality and love shine through, has made me want to open my heart and time to other family's aging loved ones. I lived with my grandmother in my grandparents home for a few years before she was moved into a nursing home. I helped with overseeing her daily care, providing companionship and more.
