My name is Michelle Remillard. A stay at home mother raising three wonderful children. I am interested in a part time job assisting elders with errands, cooking, housekeeping, transportation to office visits and other recreational needs.
As a graduate of Assumption College, I achieved a Certificate in the Studies of Gerontology and continued to pursue that field accepting a position as a Recreational Therapist at a long term care facility. As the years advanced so did my career as I worked as a Certified Activities Director at Charlesgate Manor Convalescent Home. As a manager of the department, I devised and scheduled all the monthly programs such as religious programs, exercise classes, outings, concerts, birthday parties, Alzheimer's groups, cooking classes, arts and crafts, current events, movie night and the list goes on! Some of my other responsibilities included: screening and assessing new patients and creating plans of care for their social and emotional needs, managing and training volunteers, organizing fund raising events, and participating in biweekly patient care plan meetings.
I have always enjoyed interacting with senior citizens and believe social programs are a significant element to improve a person's emotional and physical health. My goal is to find a position which enables me to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
