Professional Background:
I am a young adult who is currently a part-time employee at a family shelter where I am involved with baby sitting the clients children when needed, delegating assignments/chores, participating in group meetings and social events, following up with residents regarding program guidelines and protocols.
I've recently parted ways from a local hospital where I worked in the emergency department along with physicians, nurses, social workers and technicians. My role in the ED was to support nurses who were assigned patients who needed one-to-one care through out their hospital visit. Patients who I vigilantly observed and assisted were monitored for high fall risk, seizure risk or displayed suicidal ideation.
Prior to working for the hospital I was a Residential Aide for 10 clients who were adults with disabilities, which I responsible for their physical wellness. I completed task such as conducting hourly bed checks confirming that all residents were sound and complacent; promptly responded to call bells concerning any request or concerns. I also assisted with toileting including changing of depends, bed pan, commode, urinals, and out of bed to bathroom transfers. In addition, I assisted residents with morning routines including bathing, personal hygiene, getting dressed for the day, tidying up clients rooms, and transferring residents into their wheelchairs.
I am certified in First-Aid and CPR through American Heart Association.
Personal Background:
I am a Boston native with Latino parents. English being my first language and Spanish-creole my second. I am a part-time college student who plans to become a full-time student in the near future. I am majoring in Social Science. Recently I was working two jobs until I finally decided to put education first. Thus my reasoning to become a part of the Sittercity community where flexibility meets employment and client satisfaction. On my spare time I enjoy indulging in spoken word/poetry, good music, good vibes and occasionally catching up on Roseanne the late 80s-90's hit television show. I am the second youngest of four siblings.
