Jakob’s Bio
After meeting my first client who was on the autism spectrum on sittercity almost three years ago, I had only worked in animal care. In January 2014 though I began doing companion care for a young man that changed the path of my life. After he moved out of state, I went on to be a direct support professional in three group homes (owned by the same nonprofit) in Oregon and then became a behavior therapist in rural Northern California. My experiences with folks who have developmental disabilities has varied in age range from young children to elderly folks who had been abused and neglected in previous caregiving situations. Many of my clients had co-occurring mental illness including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. It is my hope that I can continue to bring compassion and professionalism to private clients here in Maryland.

Reviews
Jakob was an excellent sitter for our three cats. We'd never left them for longer than two nights, so this extended time away admittedly made us a little nervous. Our nerves were calmed as soon as we met Jakob for an initial meet and greet. Our cats seemed to bond with Jakob immediately during this initial meeting.
Jakob was able to stop by twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, to care for our cats. We received pictures and updates with each visit. We felt like our cats were in good hands the entire time we were away.
We would absolutely hire Jakob for future cat sitting jobs and would encourage anyone looking for an amazing sitter to do the same!
