I’m a mature individual with a strong work ethic, dependable, thorough, patient and dedicated to excellence, with a passion and compassion for helping and encouraging others. With nearly 20 years of experience in both volunteer and paid positions caring for others, I have worked with the elderly with varying degrees of dementia, Alzheimer's and a wide range of disabilities, helping to provide a warm, caring and safe environment. I have worked in a variety of settings to include, senior centers, in-home care, assisted living retirement communities and nursing homes. My goal is to not only extend friendship and companionship and to help each individual with daily living but to invite and encourage participation in day to day activities and other interests, as the person is able, to stimulate memory and physical strengthening, helping to promote self-worth and enrich their lives. I have certifications in first aid, CPR and am also a certified feeding assistant, to help those who have difficulty eating independently or who are no longer able to do this on their own. I have successfully held various supervisory and management positions over the years demonstrating strong leadership qualities. In my various positions I have built strong relationships with clients, family members and co-workers, quickly gaining the trust and confidence of those I serve and work with as I treat each person with dignity and respect.
