I am retired professional looking for a supplemental income. In 2009, I have took an early retirement and started exploring different kind of work possibilities.

Because of my everlasting compassion and empathy for the elderly and my own curiosity about Alzheimer's, in 2013 I have attended and successfully completed Dementia Care Certificate program and was awarded this certificate from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association.

For over 2.5 years, until recently as January 2015, I was taking care of now 101 years old lady with Alzheimer's.

Why am I seeking a "female companion/ assistant" position? Why am I a good candidate?

I sincerely believe that I could be of a great value and joy to someone in need of a good, caring and resourceful companion.

I am in a good health, very energetic, an upbeat kind of a person. in addition, I am a caring, trustworthy, devoted, reliable, computer savvy professional with a knowledgeable as well as good common sense, and compassionate approach to care for people with Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's is a complex disease. It is essential, for a caregiver to know how to effectively communicate
and to cope with difficult behaviors  that often accompany Alzheimer's disease. The person's emotions are
not effected by Alzheimer's disease, therefore I see empathy and understanding the many behaviors as my
biggest role.
 
My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and fulfilled quality of life for the client.

And for myself, I enjoy knowing that my presence and devotion might  bring happiness to someone's life, in addition to my help that they can always count on.
