My most recent job was with MB Senior Solutions where I spoke daily with Seniors about the Medicare situation and health needs. After being exposed to how costly insurance can be for the elderly, and hearing stories of how they lost their loved ones, or were diagnosed with life changing diseases, my eyes were open to the needs in the community for this generation.

Recently, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in 20 years. She is now in an assisted living facility and learning how to adjust to a life that no longer includes community service to her church and friends. My other grandmother is also in assisted living. Being an adult and seeing this happen to two of my loved ones has sparked a passion in me to be an advocate to those who need it most. That may be helping them to find the right insurance (as done in my previous job), or being there to lend an ear or helping hand. I love children and pets as well, all groups who seem to barely have a say when it comes to their care or well being.
