I have experience caring for seniors over the years as a volunteer driver, , reader, and chaperone, a PCA, HHA and most recently as a companion caregiver for a 98 year old woman. I prepared her meals, helped her with dressing, did laundry, cleaned her apartment, got her mail, took her to appointments in her building, helped monitor her meds, took her vitals, helped with personal needs and kept notes for her family on her daily schedule while getting her up in the mornings and putting her to bed in the evenings. She enjoyed musical instruments I brought with me to play old fashioned songs and various other surprises to liven her days for fun. I have worked on other private jobs with clients who had dementia and Alzheimer's along with an agency where I was an HHA for a woman recovering from a stroke. I have a little experience working in hospice situations and am interested in doing more in this area.
