I've always had a passion for working with special needs, so four years ago I took my first job as a Direct Support Professional. I worked in a group home with four special needs men every day and quickly realized this was the field I loved. I quickly got promoted to a Lead in the group home. I provided personal cares, made appointments, cooked, cleaned, went on outings and had lots of fun. Because of this job I became CPR and First Aid certified. After three years at the group home I got my ParaPro certificate and became a Pre-K special needs Para. Making a difference in the kids lives means a lot to me and we have a lot of fun doing arts and crafts, reading, playing and learning. All my life I have cared for others, whether it be babysitting, being a mother to my two year old boy, or doing it for work. Taking care of others and making an impact in their lives is my passion.
