I did home health care with the MS Dept of Rahab Services back in 2012 for a little while. I helped an elderly handicapped woman and it was a great experience. I started doing this because I had just had my son who is now 3 years old. I wanted to work on a set schedule just as I want to now and know I have a set amount of hours and so forth. I love caring for people and helping. I come from a household of my mother being the oldest and having to brothers who were mentally ill. They are now deceased but I gained a lot of knowledge from my mother and grandmother on how to help out with them. My grandmother is in her later 70's and from time to time I go and help here out and sit with her. I've only worked with one elderly person and she became hospitalized and it cause me to be laid off my job. I wanted to go back and work in this field but at the time I was caring for my son and didn't have any transportation anymore or valid license. I now have both so I'm ready to pick up where I left off. I don't mind doing a background check or whatever it takes to be employed. I hope I'm considered by someone. I'd love to care and be a companion to someone.
